What is Urban Networking?
“URBAN NETWORKING” is the ability to aggressively establish mutually beneficial relationships focusing on the exchange of ideas, products, services, and resources both physical and fiscal. Plain and simple, Urban Networking is a leadership strategy for finding and managing resources, developing relationships and creating positive and productive outcomes.
Urban comes from the latin, “urbanus” or of the city. Therefore, we are talking fast paced, aggressive and professional relationship building. When we use the word “aggressive” we are talking about being aggressive with yourself. This means being intentional, strategic, forward and disciplined in your approach and on how you manage yourself.
When you heard the word, “networking” people think about golf courses and club houses where successful corporate leaders meet over martinis and hors oeuvres. While these tactics are just as functional there as in the board room or the back room. Basically, Urban Networking is about going after your goals and recruiting and connecting with those individuals who can help you get there.
